This is an English Georgian period brass small wall pocket with an intricate design including pierced hearts & an etched floral design on the front of the pocket. It was used near the fireplace to hold matches, & small pieces of wood & paper to start the fire. It measures 8" high x 3" wide. Circa 1800-1820 |
