This English early 19th century ironstone jug is in a lovely floral pattern of dark blue, orange, green, peach, and yellow. The design is carried down the handle, and around the inside of the rim of the jug. Its only mark is an early crown with New Stone China written below that. It has an impressed number 12. The colors and design of the jug are very much in the Masons tradition, and a similar jug was listed in a recent sale catalog for Masons ironstone. We estimate the age of the jug to be circa 1830-1835. It measures 7 3/4 inches high. |
