This is an English Regency period mahogany footed box with sandlewood inlaid trim. It is sarcophagus shaped with an early ring handle in the top, a mother-of-pearl inlaid escutcheon, and it rests on brass feet. It has been recently re-lined with subdued colored paper. It measures 10 3/4" wide x 7 1/4" deep x 5 1/2" high. Circa 1810-20
