It is in excellent condition showing only minor wear. It measures 7" long when closed x 3 3/4" wide x 1 3/4" deep. Open it is 13 3/4" long. Circa 1850

It looks different colors in the pictures partly because the grain of the wood runs differently on the drawer than on the rest of the piece. Actually, they look the same color.
