Pair of English Staffordshire Dogs This is a pair of English mid-19th century red & white Staffordshire dogs with early feathery painting & deep grooves. They're in excellent condition with a little minor back edge missing to the right dog. However, when the dog is setting upright you barely see it. The dogs measure 9 1/2" high. This is an English mid-19th century Staffordshire figure of a boy and girl on a horse. The boy is holding a basket, and at the base it says "Going to Market" in gold letters. There are a few gold stems at the bottom and some gold on the hats and necklines, and a little bocage green in two spots on the base. The figure is in excellent condition, and is snowy white except for nice flesh tones on the hands and the well detailed faces. The figure measures 8 3/4" high x 7" wide x 2" deep. Circa 1850
